Grants of $60,000 to USA, Canada, and International artists to create and perform presentations depicting various elements of democracy. Eligible performances must be new works and may be multi-disciplinary or in the fields of opera, music, dance, and theater. Funding is intended to provide resources and support to advance community-based projects that positively impact Native communities throughout the country. Funding is intended to support communities in the Patterson Companies service areas throughout the United States and Canada.

Residency to a Canada professional playwright to focus on their work while contributing to the education of emerging playwrights at an eligible university. The playwright is expected to divide their time equally between their own work and assisting the university students. The residency will take place at the University of Alberta, in Edmonton.

Fellowships to USA, Canada, and International individuals with professional leadership experience in energy and food systems to expand their knowledge and leadership capacity. This program is intended to provide networking opportunities and teach skills to elected officials, advocacy group leaders, topic experts, and others to address issues related to energy and food systems.

Fellowship to a USA, Canada, or International female professional journalist for social justice and human rights studies. The goal of the program is to provide an opportunity for research and internships with major print media outlets. The Fellow will have input in the design of their academic and internship schedules.

Opportunity for Canada arts organizations to receive capacity-building coaching. Applicants are required to have attended or to watch a recording of an information session prior to applying. The purpose of funding is to provide organizations with professional coaching to improve their data collection, analysis, and impact measurement capabilities.

Grants of up to $15,000, grants of up to $20,000, and grants of up to $25,000 to Ontario Indigenous artists, organizations, and groups to support Indigenous art. Funding is intended for the development, creation, and presentation of artwork, and for events that bring artists together. Grants of up to $22,000 to USA, Canada, and International early-career psychologists to support research addressing children with serious emotional disturbance. Funding is intended for research in the areas of early intervention and treatment. The goal of the program is to assist psychologists in producing scientifically-based research and programs that will provide models for broad-based applications across the country.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for programs and projects that benefit older adults. Funding is intended to improve the lives of elderly Jewish individuals. Priority focus areas include capital improvements, community connections, intergenerational programming, Holocaust survivors, and dementia care.

Grants of up to $50,000 to USA and Canada nonprofit organizations and IHEs for activities that address, and work to mitigate, the adverse effects of climate change on health. Funding is intended to support early-stage projects that connect scholars from diverse fields.

Grants and loans to Ontario businesses for economic development support. Applicants must register in the grant portal and consult with staff prior to applying. Funding is intended to assist advanced manufacturing companies, with a focus on small and medium-sized businesses, through investments in capital equipment, technology adoption, and skills development that will accelerate recovery and place companies in competitive global positions.

Funding is intended to reach youth ages 12-20, especially those who are faced with barriers to education and employment. The goal of these grants is to establish programs that bring together education, mentorship, and workforce development to empower underserved youth to achieve their full potential. Grant sizes depend on the number of youth participating in the project.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International organizations to address issues related to access to effective antibiotics and antibiotic resistance. The focus of the projects should be on providing sufficient antibiotics to people and animals in low and middle-income countries. This Challenge particularly encourages solutions from teams based in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) and multi-disciplinary teams.

Competition for USA, Canada, and International nonprofit and for-profit organizations to devise a weather-resistant, portable, lightweight weapon firing system. The purpose of the competition is to increase weapon accuracy, efficiency, and lethality. The solution must have the potential to impact soldiers' ability to engage targets effectively in operational environments.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International individuals and organizations in recognition of outstanding contributions to the food sector. This award honors recipients whose efforts have resulted in innovative solutions to food insecurity in disadvantaged communities. The award winners are expected to participate in a program of events. In particular, the award recipients may be asked to attend the next Arrell Food Summit and other engagements.

Scholarships to Ontario individuals with intellectual disabilities to enroll in personal interest and academic courses. Funding is intended to provide Ontario residents aged 18 and older with opportunities for professional development and community inclusion. The goal is to help individuals obtain employment and a decent standard of living.

Eligible projects are related to software development and should improve the organizations operations. The Gadfly Project is making available in-kind grants for organizations seeking to better secure their digital footprint.

Applications are welcome from organizations that are ready to take a step forward but need a technology partner to help translate their vision into a working application.

Grants to Ontario commercial property owners in eligible regions for capital improvements to property façades. Certain applicants are required to contact the funding source prior to applying. Eligible uses of funds include exterior painting, lighting, awnings, and brick restoration. Funding is intended to update and improve the exterior façades of buildings in the Municipality of Huron East.

Applicants and nominees will be evaluated based on their creativity and innovation, how they overcome the odds to achieve, their impact on their community and beyond, how they operate as global citizens, their impact on their peers, and their academic achievement.

Grants of up to $15,000 to Ontario digital content production companies for activities to promote company growth and business development. First-time applicants must contact the funding source prior to applying. Funding is intended for a broad range of networking activities taking place outside the province. Eligible uses of funds include participation in virtual activities and events, sales trips, media tours, trade missions, and attendance at industry events. The purpose of this award is to honor and advance the recipient organization’s efforts and call attention to the global need for humanitarian aid, thereby encouraging others to expand their support.

Grants of up to $3,000 and in-kind support to Ontario young people in eligible locations to promote business development. Funding is intended to help entrepreneurs launch a summer business. In addition to monetary support, successful applicants will receive business training and mentorship. Eligible applicants are seeking to start a business in the City of Brampton.

Awards to Canada authors to acknowledge outstanding contributions to the field of literature. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winner and finalists. Nominations are invited for collections of fictional short stories or novels that have been recently published. A prize will be awarded to the novel or short story collection published between October 1, 2024, and September 30, 2025 that, in the opinion of the jurors, is the year’s best book of fiction. There are three rounds of deadlines, which are dependent on the date of publication.

The purpose of the program is to provide teachers with additional resources to instill a love of learning and reading in their students. Grant money may be used to order books at a discount through a partner vendor.

Previously funded projects include adoption programs, animal rescue training, public awareness campaigns, research and data websites, and more.

Funding is intended to support projects designed to benefit the structure and efficiency of the industry. Eligible project areas include professional development, technology, internship, and marketing. Funding is also intended for projects to facilitate access to books by Canadian authors through promotional activities and improved infrastructure within the book publishing and distribution industry.

Awards to Canada authors to recognize excellence in creating nonfiction works of literature. Nominations are invited for newly published pieces that provide readers with unique and informed perspectives. Eligible forms of literature include biographies, works of history, essays, political and social commentaries, memoirs, and journalistic essays.

Grants to Ontario production companies to produce local movies and television shows in eligible locations. Eligible projects include made-for-television movies and television series, documentaries, and theatrical feature films. The purpose of this program is to increase film and television industry jobs and investment and to increase quality, original film and television productions produced in Northern Ontario, while showcasing its culture, geography, stories, and talent.

Grants to Canada registered charities for projects and activities to benefit animals worldwide. Funding is intended to assist the efforts of organizations that work to reduce animal cruelty and help domesticated and wild animals that are abandoned, neglected, abused, and in distress.

Grants to Ontario record labels and music publishers to develop the local music market. First-time applicants must contact program staff prior to applying. Funding is intended to promote job creation; expand artist rosters; invest in professional recording and production; undertake export market development; enhance business capacity; and strengthen diversity within Ontario's music industry.

Conditional grants and loans to Ontario businesses in eligible locations to expand operations. Eligible expenses include but are not limited to used or new equipment, capital construction, leasehold improvements, information and communications technology (ICT) investments, and land servicing costs. Businesses must be expanding existing operations in Northern Ontario.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International libraries to reduce electricity costs. Funding is intended for customers of the funding source who are interested in installing solar panels. Priority will be given to libraries with relatively new roofs that can accommodate the panels.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International musicians, architects, writers, and visual artists to participate in a residency program in Austria. The purpose of the residency is to promote an exchange of ideas and to provide a venue for international artists to exhibit their work. Residencies will take place in Krems an der Donau, Austria.

Grant of $50,000 to a Canada investigator for research addressing hereditary angioedema. Funding is intended for a research project that focuses on the management and mechanisms of the condition. Applicants must detail the strengths of their proposed methodology from a scientific perspective.

Funding is intended to devise alternative research, testing, and educational methodologies. Eligible uses of funds include tuition, salary, and supplies.

Grants of $500 to USA, Canada, and International artists to create art depicting different aspects of nature. Applicants are required to contact the funding source to receive an application. Artwork may be produced in any type of medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art. Priority will be given to artwork submitted by artists from underrepresented communities and regions, as well as applicants from places or countries where there is a lack of funding available to artists.

Grants of up to $10,000 to USA, Canada, and Mexico nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, government agencies, and laboratories to cover expenses related to conferences, scientific meetings, and workshops that address aging. Funding is intended to support activities that reflect the Foundation's mission to drive efforts to extend healthy human lifespan and understand the processes of aging.

Grants of up to $5,000 and in-kind support to Canada nonprofit organizations to promote equitable employment opportunities. Funding is intended for organizations that eliminate barriers to employment for all members of their community. In addition to funding, nonprofits will receive mentorship and volunteer assistance.

The purpose of the program is to provide participants with access to the funding source's resources, technology, and services as they carry out tech-driven projects in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals 9 and 12.

Grants of up to $5,000 to Ontario incorporated youth groups in eligible regions for environmental projects. Funding is intended for youth aged 15 to 24 to develop projects related to climate change. Eligible projects include research, education, surveys, art campaigns, and hackathons. Activities must be conducted by residents of, or students in, Oakville.

Grants of up to $25,000 USA, Canada, and International organizations, businesses, agencies, and individuals for environmental conservation projects. Funding is intended for activities in the focus areas of stewardship, conservation, and education. Projects may be globally or locally focused.

Grants of up to $3,500 to Canada employers to hire youth for short-term employment in the Trails sector. Priority will be given to employers who support youth who face barriers, including Indigenous youth, those living in rural areas, new immigrants, and youth who have not completed high school. Funding is intended for projects in the following focus areas: humanitarian aid, civil and human rights initiatives, education, and heritage initiatives. Humanitarian aid and heritage projects must be implemented within Ukraine.

Grants of up to $3,000 to Canada, USA, and territories nonprofit organizations for projects to protect wildlife and natural habitats. Funding is intended for campaigns to save specific species and ecosystems. Eligible activities include public policy work, litigation, advocacy, and similar endeavors.

Grants to Canada qualified donees for law-related activities. Funding will be awarded to programs in the areas of law reform and legislation, administration of justice, legal research, or legal education. Examples of past initiatives include systems of justice, court reform, racial equality, law and ethics in health care, gender equality and conflict of interest.

Award of $2,000 to a USA K-6 teacher to recognize excellence in helping students improve in writing. Applicants should explain and demonstrate their philosophy about writing instruction and student progress. In addition, teachers must provide student writing samples with teacher comments.

Grants to USA, Canada, and International research institutions for studies related to the management of solid waste. A pre-proposal must be submitted prior to applying. Research priorities include addressing the impacts of climate change, emerging contaminants, and advancing recycling.

Grants of $5,000, $7,500, and $15,000 to Ontario individual artists at any stage in their career for the creation or continuation of artistic works. Funding is intended to support a broad range of visual arts practices and to promote excellence and diversity among artists and communities. Grants are available for emerging, mid-career, and established artists.

Grants to Canada nonprofit organizations, post-secondary institutions, and individuals for programs and projects that focus on humanities and social science research topics. Nonprofit applicants must contact staff in advance of the deadline to begin the application process. Funding is intended for events and activities that represent opportunities to exchange knowledge and engage with participants on research issues of value to them. Events and outreach activities funded by a Connection Grant can often serve as the first step toward more comprehensive and longer-term projects.

Opportunity for USA, Canada, and International students and teams of students ages 4-18 to participate in a competition to develop innovative solutions to global problems. The competition was designed to inspire youth from around the world to solve real-life problems using creativity, kindness, and collaboration. Finalists will be eligible to win cash prizes in order to implement their winning project ideas.

Grants of up to $15,000 to Ontario book publishers for activities that contribute to company growth. First-time applicants and new companies must contact the funding source prior to applying. Funding is intended to support activities that improve the company's business strategy. Eligible activities include attendance at industry events, including online activities. Proposed activities must take place outside of Ontario.

Grants of up to $25,000 to USA, Canada, and International individuals with a Ph.D. for anthropology research projects. Grant funds must be used for research expenses. Funding is intended to advance the field of anthropology and make a significant impact on anthropological theory, knowledge, and debate.

Grant of up to $10,000 to a USA, Canada, or International registered nurse for collaborative research related to global disparities in healthcare. Eligible research must involve investigators in at least two countries. Funds will be distributed based on the applicant's research budget, the degree of collaboration, and the quality of the proposed research.

Awards to USA, Canada, and International charitable organizations to recognize programs that serve local communities. Organizations are nominated by the funding source and winners will be determined by votes. Awards will recognize activities addressing education, nutrition, housing, and the environment. Organizations must be based in the USA, Canada, the UK, or Singapore to be eligible.

Award to a USA, Canada, or International educator to recognize contributions to the field of elementary language arts education. The purpose of this program is to recognize an individual who has had a significant impact on the field of literacy, enhanced classroom practice, obtained national and/or international influence in literacy teaching and learning, and contributed a body of work that is compatible with the mission of NCTE.
